ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY OF ADELAIDE

The University of Adelaide is one of Australia’s leading Group of Eight universities and is consistently ranked among the top 1% of universities in the world.

Established in 1874, the University of Adelaide is Australia’s third oldest university and an iconic Adelaide institution. The University has a strong reputation for research and teaching excellence and producing graduates that make an impact on the world. The University has produced 106 Rhodes Scholars, including Australia’s first indigenous winner, and 121 Fulbright Scholars with five Nobel Laureates among its alumni community.

The University of Adelaide is a comprehensive university, offering a broad range of undergraduate programs underpinned by world-class research and placing high priority on the student learning experience. The University’s strong reputation for providing quality face-toface instruction is backed up by excellent electronic resources including extensive online teaching tools.

With more than 25,000 students, the University is small enough to provide personal interaction with teaching staff, yet large enough to offer a wide range of programs, student support services and vibrant campus life. The University of Adelaide is strongly committed to international education, with around 30 per cent of international students from around 90 countries among its current student population. The annual Graduate Careers Australia survey places the university in the top tier of Australian universities for teacher quality, skills development and overall student satisfaction.

The University of Adelaide’s historic main campus is located in the centre of Adelaide city. It is the primary location for teaching undergraduate programs. The North Terrace Campus blends sandstone heritage with state-of-the-art facilities including the innovative $100 million engineering, computer and mathematical sciences building — awarded Australia’s first 6 Star Green Star rating for an education building — and a new student learning space, Hub Central, which has evolutionised the on-campus student environment, bringing learning and social spaces together in the heart of the campus.
