solutions. In the 2015 Good Universities Guide, ECU graduates gave the University a 5-star rating for teaching quality,

Recent ECU achievements
Construction is well underway on a new building, to be known as Ngoolark. This building is scheduled for completion in
late 2014, and will be a one-stop-shop, bringing all student related services under one roof. The building will create an active
space with a campus street and a new marketplace enhancing the vibrancy of the Joondalup Campus. This state-of-the-art
building will meet the equivalent of a 5-star energy efficiency rating and integrate with other award winning architecture on the
Joondalup Campus.
ECU Health and Wellness Institute Director Professor Daniel Galvão has been awarded a Research Fellowship from the Cancer
Council Western Australia. The Fellowship will provide $320,000 over four years to further Professor Galvão’s research
examining how exercise can benefit people undergoing cancer treatment.
Congratulations to ECU Advertising Lecturer Diane Slade for her recognition as a champion of industry by the International Advertising Association (IAA). Ms Slade’s achievement was announced at the Association’s 75th Anniversary Leadership Forum in London last year. Coordinating ECU’s Advertising Course Ms Slade was the only Western Australian recognised by the IAA on a list, which included 56 individuals from 25 countries.

Activities include barbecues and a range of sporting activities e.g. soccer, cricket, volleyball, ABOUT PATHWAY EDUCATION An Undergraduate Pathway is a single course which is comprised of a series of stages (Stages 1-4) of study which on successful completion results in the award of a Bachelor's. A Postgraduate Pathway is a single course which is comprised of a series of stages of study (Stages 1 - 2) which on successful completion results in the award of a Master's Degree. Foundation or Stage1 A pre degree programme for students who do not meet university entry requirements. Successful completion leads to progression to year 1 of a UK bachelor degree. The course includes both academic subjects as well as English Language. In Australia the foundation is often known as – Otherwise also known as Certificate IV or Tertiary Access .The tertiary access is an accelerated program for more advanced students. Diploma Year 1 - Stage 2 Designed for students who fail to meet the entry requirements for direct entry, but who are still capable of studying at that level. Successful completion leads to the 2nd year of a UK bachelor degree programme. The course includes both academic subjects as well as English Language. Stages 3 and 4 comprise of the 2nd and 3rd year of an honours degree. Graduate Diploma A 2 term and accelerated 1 term programme is available for students who have a degree, but not one which is equivalent to a UK degree. Successful completion leads to direct entry to the master degree. English Language - A presessional English Language programme is available for those who fail to meet the minimum English Language requirements. Please note visa regulations may differ in the cae of English Language entry. Bachelor Degrees Master Degrees Designed for students who have equivalent to an Australian degree or who meet the minimum entry qualifications as outlined under entry requirements. Students who do not meet these requirements should follow the pathway entry. Undergraduate Pathways Certificate IV Business Tertiary Acess Program Business Diploma (Degree Year 1) Business Postgraduate Pathway Business ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS Certificate IV Completion of Higher Secondary Certificate or Year 11 equivalent with average of 50%. Tertiary Access Program Completion of Higher Secondary Certificate or Year 11 equivalent with average of 60%. Diploma Completion of Higher Secondary Certificate (10+2)/Intermediate with average of 50% Postgraduate - Honours Bachelor degree (3 years) awarded by a Section 1 institution ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS Certificate IV IELTS 5.0 with no band less than 4.5 Diploma 5.5 with no band less than 5.0 TOEFL 71 with no band less than 15 GCE 'O' Level C Postgraduate 6.0 with no band less than 6.0 TOEFL 80 with no band less than 17 Note: Some pathways may not be available throughout the year.
