We are involved in moderating all HIC courses, developing new curricula and maintaining the quality and equivalency of courses through our equal membership on HIC’s Academic Advisory Committee.

About Pathway to Education

ABOUT PATHWAY EDUCATION

An Undergraduate Pathway is a single course which is comprised of a series of stages (Stages 1-4) of study which on successful completion results in the award of a Bachelor's. A Postgraduate Pathway is a single course which is comprised of a series of stages of study (Stages 1 - 2) which on successful completion results in the award of a Master's Degree.

Foundation or Stage1 – Otherwise also known as Certificate IV or Tertiary Access - A pre degree programme for students who do not meet university entry requirements. Successful completion leads to progression to year 1 of a UK bachelor degree. The course includes both academic subjects as well as English Language. The tertiary access is an accelareated program for more advanced students.

Diploma Year 1 - Stage 2  - Designed for students who fail to meet the entry requirements for direct entry, but who are still capable of studying at that level. Successful completion leads to the 2nd year of a UK bachelor degree programme. The course includes both academic subjects as well as English Language. Stages 3 and 4 comprise of the 2nd and 3rd year of an honours degree.

Graduate Diploma - A 2 term and accelerated 1 term programme is available for students who have a degree, but not one which is equivalent to a UK degree. Successful completion leads to direct entry to the master degree.
English Language - A presessional English Language programme is available for those who fail to meet the minimum English Language requirements. Please note visa regulations may differ in the case of English Language entry.

Entry Requirements

Foundation Stage 1 - 5 GCSE passes or equivalent, with a minimum C-grade average overall (1 Semester)

                                    5 GCSE passes or equivalent, with a minimum D-grade average overall (2 Semesters)

                                   or Successful completion of HSC/intermediate certificate (10+2) with grade average of 2.5 (1 semester)

                                   or Successful completion of HSC/intermediate certificate (10+2) with grade average of 2.0  (2 semesters)

                                   IELTS 5.5 (with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill)

Diploma Stage 2 - 120 UCAS Tariff points at A /AS level or a minimum of 24 points in the International Baccalaureate (IB)

                              or completion of HSC/intermediate certificate (10+2) with grade average of 3.0 (3.5 for Engineering)                           

                               IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill)

Graduate Diploma -A qualification equivalent to a minimum of UK Higher National Diploma (HND), in a relevant subject area where appropriate, and a minimum overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.3 on the 4.0 scale,

                                 or Completion of a recognised Bachelor Degree: GPA 2.2 (1 semester)

                                 or Completion of a recognised Bachelor Degree: GPA 2.0 (2 semesters)

                                 IELTS 5.5 (with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill)

Other English requirements  -4.5 (with a minimum of 4.0 in any skill) before pathway  ( 1, 2 oe 3 semester options available)
